I am looking to cover my grass with pea gravel and pavers, creating a LOW maintenance option to grass. How can I make sure the grass will not come back? I was thinking like some industrial strength plastic sheeting, then the gavel on top? Will that work or do I have to actually remove the grass in strips? I bought this small house and on the side it just has extremely hard dirt. Any recomendations on what I should do with this yard? I don’t know if I should try and flip the dirt over and plant vegetables; or make a Japanese rock garden with a walkway going through. I really suck at gardening so any advice would be great.
