I’ve recently moved and am happy to report my living room is rather large for the first time ever. I’ve chosen contemporary low profile furniture and am aiming for a serene, zen theme and so far so good. However, the longest wall still seems empty and i’d like to use the space to create a zen like space w/ bonsai’s, plants, candles, and a rock garden perhpas. Any ideas? References
I am planning on planting a meditation garden and want to put in a small pond. I know I need a fountain or waterfall to keep the water from becoming stagnate. How do I figure out the size needed? I created a Japanese garden with fountains, lanterns, bridges and fine gravel. I even combed the gravel and rock to give it that zen quality. However, my neighbor has this shit bag tree that sheds leaves all over it; but, even worse it has these weird nut berries that created a huge mess when they burst on the ground. How can I protect my garden that I worked so hard

There are two main elements to creating the perfect zen garden. Of which are rocks and sand. The rocks represent mountains and grounding, while the sand helps to represent flowing water. However, this sand shouldn’t be just any ordinary beach or garden variety sand. Instead you should purchase enough crushed granite sand to fill your space. Whether it be outside or in.
